about

Here some insights into my background, education and inspiration:

As a child I have visited my mother everyday in her ceramic workshop. She has transformed every year one ton of clay into wonderful tableware and art pieces. Often I have created myself something little out of clay. My father was an object artist, minimal style, and his works mostly had a humorous or social critical side. And: I grew up in the wild nature of the Swiss mountains. Everyday I have walked over million years old rock formations, through wild fauna and flora which is surviving in these harsh alpine conditions.

Now I live on beautiful Jersey with similar nature elements. Granites under my feet and meeting little survivers everywhere, I feel almost back home.

I can only assume that many of my 2d and 3d artworks show my great affinity to geological elements and the fascination for the shape, structure, movement and visual components of a mass and layers of mass. I have no mathematical knowledge of mass but simply my imagination, a feeling for mass, for layers, for flow, for gravity.

I love working with my hands. And I love creating something visual which catches the eye, which can even challenge the eye, and which is at the same time also aesthetically a joy to look at. The inspiration for my works is coming obviously from my environment, rural or urban, seaside or mountains, rock or sand, bread dough or tooth paste… I am translating reality into imagination and back into something physical.

After being hotel manager in the mountains and consultant in the city I wanted to go back to my roots and do art. Since 2019 I was part of several exhibitions in Jersey, Italy and Switzerland. In 2023 I have finished the Foundation course in Arts&Design (UAL) on distinction level.

I am an artist and craftswoman, but also german teacher, homemaker, hiker, snowboarder and many things more – in fact a tiny little lucky dot in the universe….
